Electric Car Benefit In Kind
Electric car ownership is on the rise in Ireland. To help with the change to electric vehicles, the Department of Finance has introduced an incentive to make this large outlay easier for businesses.
Companies can now purchase an electric vehicle up to the value of €50,000 as a 0% Benefit In Kind. As of 1 January 2018, no taxable benefit will arise for an employee or a director, where an employer provides an employee or director with an electric car or van.
